The EAU Research Foundation

Hundreds of centres in the EU carry out urology-related trials and studies. For their results to be recognized in the international community and prove beneficial for urological patients, it is very important to sustain the highest level of research. With this goal in mind, the EAU Research Foundation (EAU-RF), an independent organisation affiliated to the EAU, was set up. This research foundation stimulates, coordinates and supervises basic, translational and clinical research by enrolling the help of qualified investigators.

The EAU-RF focuses on:

  • Forming scientific networks by developing an efficient communication infrastructure between the EAU-RF and high-profile clinical study centres, their satellites and basic science laboratories.

  • Initiating and organising clinical studies and science projects that involve experts from different centres.
    •  
  • Setting up, funding and conducting investigator-initiated trials.
    •  
  • Identifying and offering opportunities for research scholarships.
    •  
  • Communicating information about these activities to European urologists, the general public and independent sponsors.

 

The foundation’s activities are managed by the joint efforts of the Clinical Research Committee, which deals with clinical studies and registries, the Basic Research Committee and the Scholarship Committee. The EAU Central Research Office offers comprehensive support at all stages of the initiated studies.
