The Future of Urology

Published by the EAU Strategy and Planning Office in 2000, "The Future of Urology in Europe" outlines strategies for the new millennium as developed by the EAU Strategy Planning Office. The booklet discusses recent developments in the field of urology and outlines strategies for its future. One of the inevitable future developments for most medical specialties is super-specialisation and a closer cooperation between the various specialities.
The SPO believes that urologists should make sure that they stay in the forefront of such developments. The most important adaptation in the future of European urology will be caused by the shift from surgical to medical urology, which will force urologists to rethink their training programmes for urological residents.
