Fabricius Hildanus: Lithotomy of the bladder

Fabricius Hildanus (1560-1634) is often called the father of German surgery. He was the first educated and scientific German surgeon and author of twenty medical books. His classic description of the cause, symptoms and extraction of bladder stones was printed in Switzerland in 1626. The book contains 28 chapters and deals with all aspects of the subject of urinary calculi. This text, accompanied by a number of letters from renowned fellow-surgeons, will be made available around mid-March.
