Visiting Professor Programme (ViPP)
Instutions may apply for support to invite a leading European urologist as a Visiting Professor (ViP)
Aims
This programme is designed to allow European institutions that lack the financial resources to host a European visiting professor for a full four-day stay.
Eligibility
• Institutions can only apply once every year
• Institutions are responsible for providing accommodation and meals for the visiting professor
• The visiting professor should be a leading European urologist from another country than the applying institution and may participate in the programme
only once each year. He/she must be prepared to give lectures, discuss clinical cases, interact with the staff of the host institution, especially junior staff
members, as well as operate on selected patients
• Both the chairman of the host institution and the visiting professor must be EAU-member
• Both the host and the visiting professor are expected to write a report after the visit
How to apply
• The chairman of the institution should apply online for financial support
• The activities scheduled for the visiting professor should be described in detail to ensure that they are in accordance with his/her fields of interest
• A letter of acceptance from the visiting professor should be submitted along with a detailed four-day programme signed by both parties
• A budget proposal for travel, accommodation and meals has to be submitted (this budget is not to be used to cover costs for accompanying persons)
The original and signed appendices should be sent by post to the EUSP Office. Please allow time for obtaining signatures from all relevant parties when
preparing your appendices.
Deadlines for Visiting Professor Programme applications are 1 January, 1 April, 1 July, and 1 October of each year. The planned date for the visit should be at least two months after the deadline.
Only signed and complete applications received in the office before the deadlines will be considered.
Please note that the EUSP Office will not respond to any correspondence until the EUSP Board have decided on your application. All applicants will receive notice from the EUSP Office approximately 1.5 months after the submission deadline.
