Recognising that innovative research and technology are cornerstones of progress, the EAU has set up a Foundation for Urological Research. This Foundation sustains key research work and serves as a dynamic link between the industry on one hand and scientific and medical research communities on the other hand.
By initiating and coordinating clinical and basic research activities, the Research Foundation enables the exchange of information between clinical study centres, national clinical research organisations and the EAU.

The Research Foundation consists of:

EuroSTEC is an up-coming joint research project on soft tissue engineering for congenital birth defects in children. The project is sponsored by the European Union (the 6th EU Framework Programme for Research and Technicological Development). Starting March, 2007, CuraTrial and the Clinical Research Committee will maintain its registries.

The EAU is on the constant look-out for European clinical researchers. For this reason, the Research Foundation has set up a clinical trialists' database.
