Live surgery at joint ESAU-ESGURS meeting
Arnhem, October 2007 - The European Society of Andrological Urology (ESAU) and the European Society of Genito-Urinary Surgeons (ESGURS) will be organising a joint meeting in Madrid coming 25 to 27 October 2007. Both are full members of the EAU Section Office and the attractive scientific programme includes two days of live surgery transmissions.
President of the ESAU-ESGURS joint meeting is Ignacio Moncada, assisted by the Chairs of the ESAU (Vincenzo Mirone) and the ESGURS (Margit Fisch).
It is the first time that this meeting is combined. Traditionally, ESAU meetings focus on andrological aspects of the urological field; ageing (ageing male), erectile dysfunction etc. but this year the surgical sessions from their ESGURS colleagues will allow for a more comprehensive overview, including reconstructive surgery, implants and transsexuality. Expectation is that having both urological super- specialist sections present the latest scientific findings will prove to be a very attractive format for clinicians working in these fields.
Live surgery is performed at the university hospital, which is also the congress venue. A range of surgical procedures - male to female transsexualism operation, microsurgical varicocele repair, penile implants, hypospadias repair – can be viewed real-time.
The programme also includes state-of-the-art lectures and discussions on this fast evolving and interesting urological field.
We invite you to consult the full programme which can be accessed here: ESAU-ESGURS 2007.
The congress will be held at the Aula Magna of the University Hospital Gregorio Marañón in Madrid. Congress hours are Thursday from 08.45 to 18.00, Friday from 09.00 to 18.00 and Saturday from 09.30 to 12.00.
