Visiting Professor Programme (ViPP)

Institutions may apply for support to invite a leading European urologist as a visiting professor (ViP). This programme is designed to allow European institutions, that lack the financial resources, to host a European visiting professor for a full four-day stay.

How to apply
The chairman of the institution should apply online for financial support and provide the following documents:

  • The activities scheduled for the visiting professor should be described in detail to ensure that they match his/ her fields of interest or specialisation
  • A letter of acceptance from the visiting professor along with a detailed four-day programme signed by both parties
  • A budget proposal for travel, accommodation and meals

The original and signed documents should be sent by post to the EUSP office.

Conditions for application

  • Both the chairman of the host institution and the visiting professor must be EAU members
  • Institutions can only apply once a year
  • Institutions are responsible for providing accommodation and meals for the visiting professor
  • The visiting professor should be a leading European urologist from another country than the applying institution and may participate in the programme only once a year
  • The visiting professor must be prepared to give lectures, discuss clinical cases, interact with the staff of the host institution (especially junior staff members) and be prepared to operate on selected patients
  • Application must be in English

Financial support
At the end of the visit the actual costs will be reimbursed to the host institution, provided the original receipts have been received by the EUSP Office.

The EUSP will cover the following costs:

  • Accommodation
  • Travel
  • Meals

The EUSP will not cover expenses for accompanying persons

Deadlines
The application deadline is 31 March and 30 September of each year.
Please note that it’s not possible to start your scholarship within 4 months after each deadline.

Review of applications
After the application deadline the EUSP Board will evaluate all applications. Applicants will be informed of the Board’s decision approximately 2.5 months after the application deadline.

Reports
Both the host and the visiting professor are expected to submit a report after the visit.
