EAU Mission: To raise the level of urological care in Europe

The European Association of Urology (EAU) represents more than 16,000 urology professionals across Europe and worldwide. Its mission is to raise the level of urological care in Europe.

In accordance with the mission statement we aim:

  • To act as the representative body for all European urologists and thus facilitate the continued development of urology and all its sub-specialties;
  • To foster and proliferate the highest standards of urological care throughout Europe:
  • To encourage urological research and enable the broadcasting of its results;
  • To promote contributions to the medical and scientific literature by its members;
  • To promote European urological achievements in Europe and worldwide;
  • To establish standards for training and European urological practice;
  • To contribute in determining European urological health care policies.

The EAU achieves its mission through a variety of scientific, educational and publishing activities including the coordination of meetings and educational courses, distribution of (semi) scientific literature and clinical practice guidelines. Furthermore, the EAU promotes urological disease prevention messages to the general public, most notably during its annual 'Prostate Awareness Day'.
