EAU Support Fund

In 2000, the EAU Board created the Support Fund to provide medical equipment to urological facilities which lack finances. Urologists can apply for support through their national society. Each year € 100,000 is donated to different urological centres. Donations, however, are not made in cash. Instead, the fund buys urological instruments from Storz and Olympus or collects high-quality, second-hand urological equipment. With this support project, many urologists can efficiently carry out their tasks with the proper equipment.

Over the past years, donations were made to Pakistan, Georgia, Macedonia and Moldavia. Also, the Fund relieved hospitals in areas struck by natural disasters, such as the tsunami in Indonesia in 2002 and the earthquake in Turkey in 2000.
